ABOUT CHEF DEE & LENNOX CULINARY
Executive Chef Dee Lennox is the chef/owner of Lennox Culinary, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With a desire to explore her passion for cooking and to share her knowledge with others, Chef Dee established Lennox Catering in 2001. She attended McFatter Technical Center, graduating from the Culinary Arts Program with honors. Meanwhile, she entered and won local and state cooking competitions, advancing to the national level. An avid wine enthusiast, Chef Dee was also certified as a Sommelier by the United States Sommelier Association.
Chef Dee honed her skills in the challenging South Florida catering industry, where requests varied daily with the tastes of the most ethnically diverse community in the Southern United States. Leading a staff of international chefs, menu creations ranged from Spanish Chicken Picante and Caribbean Jerk Pork, to Italian Chicken Marsala and Brazilian Acarajè. And of course, the staff answered requests for American standards, like Brandied Sweet Potatoes and Honey-Glazed Barbecue Ribs. Judi, a local Event Planner, said, “Wow! You exceeded my expectations! I got great food, fantastic presentation, and was awestruck by the staff that was fully outfitted in chef’s regalia… You do know how to make an impression!”
The dream to share her passion through teaching was realized when Lennox Culinary was established in 2005. South Florida residents enhance their skills under the guidance of Chef Dee and her guest chefs at cooking classes and demonstrations held throughout the tri-county area. Cooking demonstrations at NBC’s “South Florida Today Show” and Macy’s “Star Chefs@ The Cellar” program have followed. And the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel featured her on the front page of the Food Section’s special Independence Day issue. Heidi, a class participant, said, “I think we can all head into our kitchen with a little more confidence and creativity. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful knowledge and passion for cooking!”
Chef Dee’s business partner is her husband, Ron, a graduate of Columbia University with 17 years of corporate management experience with Bellsouth, TECO Energy and IBM. He lends his talents for finance and marketing, spearheading business development for Lennox Culinary.
